Hello,
my Solution Manager is on SAP_BASIS 701 PL 0005, ST 400 PL 0022.
When trying to access an existing or creating a new maintenance
transaction then the web browser pops up.
http://fqdn:8000/sap/public/myssocntl?sap-client=100
"The page cannot be displayed"
There are several firewalls between me and the Solution Manager
and only few ports like 3299/tcp are open.
Is it possible to undo this stupid change that the MOPZ wants to
open a web browser? Is it possible to view the HTML pages
in the Sapuig as it was in the past?
Regards,
Mark
I here you! We also have tons of firewalls between our SAP's (including SolMan) and the users, but the trend is towards more http(s) integration, so you need to consider secure solutions. Here are some to consider:
- impement ovpn server on a firewall - this would be a generalized solution suitable to end users
- use ssh tunnels - as an administrator use ssh access to the SolMan host, port forwarding the http port(s) 80## and 5##00.
You could use a local host alias to localhost to make the generated URL work unedited. Table HTTPPURLOC can be used to influence the generated http(s) URL.
- ssh also supports http proxy.
Note these solutions are free!

Hi Mark,
You add the host file entry for the solution manager in your machine and the " page cannot display error" will go .
You will get much better look and feel with the new MOPZ that comes in Browser , so I would reccommend not to go for any degradation plan.

Hi Mark
There have been changes in Maintenance Optimizer in SP23 and now the Optimizer transaction runs into a Web browser. Unfortunately there is no means that we can revert it back to the old Maintenance Optimizer as it is just not a UI function to revert but the complete design of the Maintenance Optimizer.

Hello Amit,
it is hard to explain how unfortunate this decision exactly was. If you have some people who take security really serious then accesing the Solution Manager via http is virtually impossible even if SAPGUI-access is fine. It wouldn't matter much to me, but when SAP makes the usage of MOPZ mandantory and then changes this strange application just for the look and feel and thereby making it unaccessible, I can only say: Great job, well done!
Cheers,
Mark
