Hello

What are the configuration steps for automatically creating production order ; once the sales order is saved in Make to Order Scenario?

This can be achieve through maintaining strategy group in Material Master in MRP 3 Tab.

The strategy group groups all the planning strategies that can be used for a particular material. The planning strategy represents the procedure used for planning a material and is (technically speaking) controlled by the MRP types.

With relevant strategy group, say, 20 - MTO (Make to Order), we will be able to create production order directly.

Actually the problem i am facing is slightly different. Production order has been created with reference to Quotation and this is not standard. I am unable to trace where exactly could be the problem....

Check you I Cat & Sch Line Cat for in the Quotation.

The problem is due to wrong determination of Sch Line Cat & I Cat in your doc.

Hi,

Automatic production order upon saving the sales order is standard in assembly order strategies (look at planning strategy 82).
