Transporting VC - Noob question

Hi,

I have not much experience with portal and VC so far and reading the WIKI and How-To concerning VC transport from Dev to Quality to production system I fail understanding one thing:

How do I (or the system) makes sure that the source system of the data service (defined in the portal system landscape) gets changed?

In by DEV system the source system (the underlying BI) is called something like "DEV" and in the production portal I called the source system something like "PROD". The VC application needs to know in my production portal that "DEV" now needs to be changed to the new system.

I would be happy in somebody could make that clear.

Hi

You first need to transport all BI changes from Dev to PRD. Then you have to change source system from 'Dev' to 'Prd' in VC (EP) dev itself. Then again deploy model (with 'Entire Model' option) & then export from Dev & Import to VC (EP) Prd.
