significance of mentioning the Licencing data in SU01

Hello,

Can any one tell me the significance of mentioning tha licencing data in Su01 Licence data tab.

For Eg:mySAP Professional (Cat II)

Hi,

the classification is used to calculate the cicense costs for your installation. Based on the license contract your company has signed with SAP that fees are calculated by user type. The classification/measurement can be done in t-code usmm.

Hi,

It is very important to enter the correct licence type when creating the user in SU01.

Otherwise when SAP asks for a licence audit, you have a big update work to do that can last several weeks when you have a lot of SAP systems with users existing in several systems.

By the way, in my opinion, the management of this licence system is much too expensive and time consuming for SAP customers. We should send an invoice to SAP for all the time spent to manage it...
