How to assign the table & field names to existing charactersic in a class

Hi Guys,

characteristic is created without assigning the table name and field name in additional data tab of characteristic. This characteristic is assigned to class and class is assigned to material master in classification view. Transactions and stock are available for materials and these materials are using from long back.

Now, client requirement is " how to assign the table & field names to existing characteristic" and " these changes has to be applicable for existing material after assign the table and field names to characteristic".

Hi,

It is not possible to assign table and field with so much of assignments of the charactarystic.

You need to reverse the complete process of assignment.

As the format for the charactaristic is copied from the standard format from the assignement of table and field system will not allow to change it now.

Also do not try to change it forcefully (by table entry etc), this will cause data inconsistancy.

Explain it to your client and try to findout some other workaround.

delete the existing charecterstics and create new
