dispacher not running

Hello

i installed SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version on windows xp

always i use wifi network

i have this problem the dispacher and maxdb can't not run

Hi,

first you should fix the db.

Could you post errors from the dblogfiles and windows eventlog.

I am not sure about the preview installation, but normaly windows xp isn't supported for SAP NW.

Hi,

if the database is not up and running. SAP will not start.

First you have to solve the issue on the database.

Normaly the logfiles stored at C:\sapdb\data\work\<SID>

Check the Windows Eventlog also.

I also had the same problem with the first download I tried from http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/nw-downloads and had to take another that was offered, as described below.

I successfully downloaded and successfully ran the installation with no problems at all. I am now happily logged on and using Abap.

The following:

1) the download wasnt possible the first few times I tried - the download popup did not appear and I received a message with the word "scnsorry" instead. If you get that, just keep trying ...

2) I downloaded the entry

"SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Developer Edition ". 

Another entry, also offered for download, "SAP NetWeaver 7.01 - ABAP Trial Version " did not install and seemed to be in error. (Installed "successfully" in just 4 minutes, Dispatcher stopped always after 1:15 minutes; download showed no MaxDB files in the unzipped folder).

3) I followed the instructions and the installation (some 27 steps) ran for 7 hours.

4) I am on a laptop with Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6002 SP2. (It is in German, not English, but this was not a problem, although it is sometimes mentioned that one should use an english-language OS).

5) After installation I could log on at once.

May I recommend this?
