offline risk analysis

I want to know if I've to complete the batch risk analysis background jobs irrespective of choosing offline risk analysis yes/no ?.

Our environment consists of only SAP ECC5 backend systems.

Yes. Offline risk analysis stores the data generated by this batch risk analysis into RAR tables.

what i discovered recently is- if you do not want to make use of management reports then there is no need to run the Batch risk analysis background jobs. You can do online analysis of user/role from informer tab.

That has always been the case.

Management reports are really meant to be just that - giving an overview about the main access issues, categorized on risk level and business process.

Offline analysis, i.e. storing more detailed results from the last batch run, can only help to point you in the right direction, i.e. how to do remediation.

Once you decide you need to act, i.e. remove access or modify roles, you need to do the "online" risk analysis. That's the place where you get the most current information (real time), the most detailed information, plus the ability to simulate changes.
