SRM 7.0's Table Extension and Subcontracting

Dear SRM Experts,

I would just like to know: what is the purpose of having Table Extension in the Shopping Cart? How is the data built?

And what is the purpose of Subcontracting? How is the field in the shopping cart on subcontracting populated? How does this affect the follow-on documents that I will create?
