Problems Installing Mini-Sap 6.20

Hello everyone,

I tried to install Mini-SAP 6.20 and the following error occured: (Installing percantage: 1%)

ERROR 2010-06-19 21:57:11 ADADBINSTANCE_IND_ADA InternalAskBasicKeysFromUser:0

The function RegEnumKeyEx with the parameterlist (Services)

returned with error code 234 and error text:

Es sind mehr Daten verfügbar.

I have searched the message board for similar problems, but not find a solution yet.

I have a WinXP SP2 system and copied the data from the CDs to the hard disk.

I fullfill all System Requirements mentioned on the CD.

What could be the problem - can anybody help?

Are you speaking of the abap installation?

I successfully downloaded from http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/nw-downloads and successfully ran the installation with no problems at all.

The following:

1) the download wasnt possible the first few times I tried - the download popup did not appear and I received a message with the word "scnsorry" instead. If you get that, just keep trying.

2) I downloaded the entry

"SAP NetWeaver 7.01 SR1 SP3 ABAP Developer Edition ".

Another entry, also offered for download, "SAP NetWeaver 7.01 - ABAP Trial Version " did not install and seemed to be in error. (Installed "successfully" in just 4 minutes and had no MaxDB files in the unzipped folder).

3) I followed the instructions and the installation (some 27 steps) ran for 7 hours.

4) I am on a laptop with Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6002 SP2. (It is in German, not English, but this was not a problem, although it is sometimes mentioned that one should use an english-language OS).

5) After installation I could log on at once.

May I recommend this?

I had a lot of problems trying to install the 6.20 version, the previous release 6.10 was better and I installed successfully.

A part from this, you post too little informations to help you. Did the installation write something more in the logs?

There are some things to do before installing the Minisap, did you follow the pre-installation steps as reported in the installation guide?

I found this thread on the web site of Galileo Press, it's the same error you reported. Unfortunately I can't fully understand it because it's in German

the link you posted includes the same error I have, but unfortunately nobody answered this question.

I think I fullfill all requirements listed on the CD:

General Requirements

• Operating System:

Windows XP (Home or Professional) ok

• Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher ok

• At least 256 MB RAM ok

• At least 512 MB paging file ok

• At least 5.12 GB disk space ok

• The file C:WINNTsystem32driversetcservices (Windows 2000) or C:Windowssystem32driversetcservices (Windows XP) must not include an entry for port 3600. ok

• When installing the system on a network computer please make sure that in your host file <localhost> ist exchanged by your system name <p123456> I just have a Home-PC, connected to the Internet via DSL . My hosts-file contains the

following entry: "127.0.0.1 localhost"

• No SAPDB must be installed on your PC. ok

• The hostname of the PC must not be longer than 13 characters. ok

• The Network must be configured for installation and

the MS Loopback Adapter must be configured when you start the system without a network connection! ok

Special Requirements for Installations on Windows XP

• In the file C:Windowssystem32driversetchosts the current IP address and the host name must be defined as

my hots-file contains "127.0.0.1 localhost" so, ok

• Open the network connectivity definition with start->control panel->network connections for defining the network connection. Select ->extended-> allow other users in network. Activate new configurations.

• Select remote desktop within extended configuration menu. ok
