Issue in ruuning the SOLMAN_SETUP

Hello,

We have solution manager 7.0 EHP1 with SP23 in our landscape which is newly installed

When i run the Tcode solman_setup it tries to open the webpage and it fails

It doesnt give any error message also.

Please let me know if you need more info to troubleshoot this issue.

Hi,

Try adding host file entry in drivers/etc/hosts file in your front end pc.

This may solve your problem.

Feel free to revert back.

I have tried adding host file entry and incresed the http timeout value also but it didnt help.

Hence i have called the URL from sapdomain which is getting redirected to different URL then that URL worked in company network after changing the domain.

Hi,

Have you increased the http timeout parameters in the system? When we installed SOLMAN in our landsape and ran solman_setup without increasing timeout parameters, we faced the same issues.

Go to SMSY and increase the HTTP timeout parameter and then try running solman_setup.

First run of solman_setup is always going to take a long time.

Dear Vadi,

Can you please check with your network administrator if you can access the URL, because you maybe using proxy which stop you from doing so.

If this is not the case then the best solution is as follows:

Can you try executing the HTTP services within IMG Activity(via TRX 'SPRO' -> SAP Referance IMG ->

SAP Solution Manager -> Basic Settings - HTTP Services). The documentation is available as well in IMG.

Once this step is done try the Solman_setup transaction and it should work.

Hello,

To add to the above, We have got all SAP servers in one network(sap) and the rest of the non-sap servers in a other network(company).

So when we access any web based sap application we change the entry as follows in RZ10 to point to the network(companydomain) wherein the application is being accessed.

Eg:

original entry : icm/host_name_full = hostname.sapdomain.com

Changed Entry : icm/host_name_full = hostname.companydomain.com

This is was working for all web based applications

But the below doesnt work for of solman_setup and it tries to suffix the domain wherein SAP server exists.

https://hostname.sapdomain.com:port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wd_sise_main_app

We are able to open the above link the sap network but again internet access is restricted there.

Hence we are not able to go through all the required steps in solution manager initial configuration.

Please provide us a solution for this
