No mail sent in case of alert.

We configered SolMan to monitor several MTE's.

SolMan collects data and presents it properly. Auto-Reaction Methods are customized in RZ21 as well as via SolMan (I guess, they are saved somewhere in RZ20).

In case of an alert, we may check RZ20 and alerts are shown properly (yellow or red).

"Status Autoreaction" says "run required". Auto-reaction method is "CCMS_OnAlert_EMail" calling "SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT".

Double-click on the MTE ("Manually start auto-reaction?") will send the mail properly.

--> SCOT/SOST work fine.

--> Dispatching job in 000 is configured.

--> Sender is dialog user in 000.

What is to be done to send mails automatically (e. g. a scheduled job? which?)?

Any helpful hints appreciated.

REfer https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-35898 .

Also check the email triggering job scheduled (SAPCONNECT in SCOT) frequently (like , in every 3 or 5 mins)

Thanks for the link.

Auto-reaction methods were already configured in RZ21.

There also exists a job which triggers mails in SOST every 5 minutes (works fine for other applications).

What else could be the reason?

Just for clarification: Customizing takes place in the satellite system, not in SOL, right?

(IMHO it would also be nice to customize the whole settings in SOL as it collects and provides data and shows the alerts, but that is not the point right now.)

Dear Dirk

Please take a look at the following notes :

171120 Alert Monitor for SQL Server

150030 RZ20: Methods/Tools are not executed

543414 RZ20: Alerts stay in status ACTION_REQUIRED

509524 RZ20: Methods do not start

They will help you analyze the issue.

Problem solved by ourselves.

There was no ccms agent running. We installed one (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/48/6a76607a7c91409474ad6c7b6f5a26/frameset.htm) and now it works fine.

Thanks for all the helpful hints!

Greets
