I suspect this is a hangover from older versions of SAP Business One, but a user has pointed out to me that they use a Data UDF on the Sales Order row to hold a Promise Date - the ShipDate field has been renamed to Earliest Date.
If they have to part-deliver some of the row Quantity, they're then unable to update the Promise Date UDF with the date when they've undertaken to deliver the remainder. All row UDFs are locked.
Does anybody know why row UDFs are indiscriminately locked down in this way, or whether SAP have any intention the change this?
Regards,
Mike Burmeister
Hi Mike Burmeister,
I don't think any one could help you in this case. UDF setting should not be changed after the data have been posted. Otherwise, no data integrity could maintain. Don't blame SAP, database is working just like that. It is not free to change every setting without certain consequences.
The best cure would be saving up all UDF value and recreate a new UDF and import all saved value back if you can. Try on test environment first.
Thanks,
Gordon
