I want to add a PDF document to the PDF Object table.
I am in the Record Mode in Data Manager.
I chose PDFs as the Current table.
I right click on the records pane and click Add.
I choose a Data Group and choose the pdf file.
I selected the "Store in Repository" option.
Following these steps, I get the error message
Importing [English [US]] 'Specification_Printer.pdf'...failed.
Import complete.
C:\Documents and Settings\THIAGAA\Desktop\MDM\Specification_Printer.pdf: MDM Server Error
How to upload the PDFs?
Do I have to have Photoshop installed to do this?
Any help is appreciated. I shall duly reward points for the answers which are helpful.
Hi,
Try this one
1. Open MDM Console
2. Connect to the repository
3. Unload it
4. Right click on repository and select Properties
5. Set Allow Invalid PDFs = Yes
6. Load repository with Update Indices
7. Try uploading PDFs from Data Manager

Hi,
Subbu is right.Even I tried to upload the file and it is working absolutely fine with the way you have done.Either your file is corrupt or you need to install adobe once again. There must be some files not properly installed while its installation.

Hi All,
I need to upload a Document(word/pdfu2019s preferably Word document because we have it to be edited by approver in further steps) into MDM and retrieve through NWDS (webdynpro java/java)coding.
I was trying to add a pDF just to try by following steps mentioned by Athiagarajan, I dnt see data group present there. I see data group[0] present in list but I am not bale to select that and edit button is frozen for me. Is it authorization issue or I need to create data group somewhere before?
Please help me in understanding.

Hi,
You are doing it correctly. I also did test the scenario and it is working for me.
And also i used a corrupted PDF file and tried to upload it says failed.
So, the only reason I can think of is the PDF file is corrucpted.
Just try to open the PDF file using Acrobat Reader and see if you are able to see the contents of it or not.
Thanks and Regards
Subbu
