SAP oracle Installation error with Oracle on windows 2008 MSCS

Dear All,

I'm facing an error during SAP cluster group creation.

As per SAPinst steps, During configuration of Frist node its giving error at Cluster group creation.

please find the Log :-

Actually, before starting SAPinst, i had created SAP<SAPSID> service & Application.

i.e.. by creating Empty service and application followed by renaming it to SAP<sapsid> and allocating shared disk and bringing it onlie with file server configuration with in it.

But, i'm facing the error during configuration of First node.

Done with ASCS and SCS .. selecting the correct drive where /usr/sap installed.

i request you to suggest me a solution to fix this problem during installation.

Hello,

Are you using Windows 2008 R2 not supported yet.

Please refer to step 13 within Note 112266 to create cluster resource

Hi John,

I'm using Windows 2008 with Sp2. Not R2.

I have created the cluster resource as per point 13 and with reference to installation guide.

installed (A)scs and SCS with the cluster resource ..virtual host.

and when i proceed to to 3rd step FIRST MSCS node its giving error like "cluster not found"

During cluster configuration the virtual host name was "abcde" and during Cluster resource configuration the virtual host name was "FGHIJ"

Here i had used "FGHIJ" and installed (A)scs and SCS.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

Hi Rahul & Raghav,

We also faced a similar issue. Solution here is to create the resource with a blank space in between.

SAP<blank><SID>

This is also mentioned in the installation guide but many a times we tend to miss out the blank space.

I'm getting error like windowserror message number 5013; cluster group could not found,In phase of configuring the first MSCS Node Installation.

could you share the information how u resolved same problem.

Hi Mahee,

As per Deepak's suggestion, Please Give Space character between SAP and <SID> while renaming the Cluster Server or application name in Fail over Cluster Management .

And also a space character should be included while renaming FIleServer resource.

Do the above changes and retry the same step...

Hello,

May not have been a good idea to create services first.

Best to let sapinst do it.

Check in sapinst_dev.log what sapinst is looking for as name of service

Might be sap <sid> with a space

Also check error in cluster.exe.log
