License renewal for sneak preview

Hello,

I have installed the SAP Netweaver 2004s ABAP Edition and my license expired. Now I got an extension. Since my license expired I am unable to logon to the system to give the mew license. I am getting an erroe 'error in license check'.

There are 2 saplicense in my machine one under

C:\usr\sap\NSP\DVEBMGS00\exe and the other

C:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386

I ran the exe. But it didn't help.

What should I do to activate my license? Please give some suggestions.

I greatly appreciate your help.

Regards,

Sumitha

Please try to set your system date back to a date when the previous license had not expired. You may need to reboot here. Start the engine. Try to logon. Install new license. Log off. Change system date back. Restart engine.

Please try this, I've heard that it works. If it does, please tell us.

Hi

You need to install a new license. If you put the earlier system date, most of the funcationalities won't work properly

Welcome to SDN.

You have to install the license thru the command prompt.

log on to windows with user id NSPADM

once logged on go to

windowds->start->run type cmd

youwill now see the dos window there naviage to folder

C:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386

(cd: C:\usr\sap\NSP\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386)

type in saplicense.exe -install and follow the screen instructions.

Hello Raja,

this would be my 2nd time for license renewal. New file was sent by LAS, but transaction SLICENSE does not work -->

Line 1 of the license key file: "----- Begin SAP License -

" expected.

I understand I have to use saplicense now, but unfortunately, I do not have such executable file. In my NSC folder, I have /SYS/exe, but no SYS/exe/nuc folder. (SneakPreview with SP8). Any idea how to get saplicense.exe or how to get transaction SLICENSE work for the recent file?

Thanks

Csaba

Dear All,

I am replying to my own message above - perhaps it helps other users to install a new license.

After you have got the email from las, and the file does not start with '--Begin SAP License--', but it contains only a few lines including the key, then. in transaction SLICENSE, you have to install it using the button "Old Licenses" and by entering the key manually.

This is in opposite to files starting with the mentioned string. In this case, you have to use button "New license" and you have to upload the file which will install your new license automatically.

Thanks

Hi Sumitha,

You can log on to ABAP using the SAP* user with the

password given during the installation. Then install the

new license using slicense tcode.
