Inspection Lot generation

Hi Everybody,

Following is the setup :

1. Plant P1 from Company Code C1

2. Plant P2 from Copmany Code C2

We do the following steps :

1. Quantity of 100 is manufactured in Plant P1 and shipped to P2 through Purchase Order PO1. As a result an Inspection Lot of type 01 is created in P2

2. UD is taken for this lot and quantity is posted to UNRESTRICTED stock

3. From P2 quantity of 50 is shipped to a customer and remaining is moved back to quality using movement type 322 as there is some issue found in the stock

4. As a result one more lot is generated in P2 of type 08

5. This lot is rejected and quantity posted to BLOCKED stock

6. This blocked quantity of 50 is returned back to P1 for rework using the original Purchase Order PO1

7. A new Purchase Order PO2 is raised and quantity of 50 is shipped back to P2

Here the issue is that no new lot is created in P2. While doing GR the 'Where' tab shows Quanlity Inspection in 'Stock Type' field but when we post it, the stock goes to UNRESTRICTED.

I am wondering why it is so. When Inspection Type 01 is active in Plant P2 a lot should be generated.

Please throw some light on it.

Regards,

Manish.

Are you batch managed? Is the replacement stock being shipped to P2 as the same batch number as what was already received? If so then I would guess that in the 01 inspection type set up for the material, in the control inspection lot field settings you have it set for "material, batch, storage location". Change this to each "material document, material, batch, storage location".

If this is the issue, right now your system thinks you already got the batch in and approved it, so subsequent receipts of the same batch do not need to be inspected.

By changing this, you are telling the system you want to inspect it every time a receipt is done, (i.e. a different material document is generated).

Hi FireFighter,

You are absolutely right.

1. The scenario is Batch Managed

2. The Batch number remains same throughout the process

3. In the Material Master, Inspection Type 01 settings are lot creation for 'material, batch, storage location'

Manish.
