Products with X0 getting planned in R/3

We have a problem. In APO we have some planned orders. These are getting planned by MRP in R/3 and coming back to APO as confirmed order. These materials have X0 as strategy so should not be planned in R/3. I am attaching a screen shot. Could you help?

Anirban,

Are the orders coming back as firmed or as ATP checked and confirmed? Do they have an NC status? You may have MDVP running as a batch job confirming orders.

X0 just limits MRP planning, not necessarily component ATP checks.

Hi Paul,

X0 is indicator for planning at APO. Hence if you have

decided to put X0 indicator, it has to be ensured that

those items are not to be planned for MRP at R/3.

MRP needs to be run only for non-APO relevant items

only.

Hence I suggest you can delete the existing planned

orders for such items and carry out a fresh planning

run at APO to regenerate those orders.

To startwith, run for one location product and based on

the success rate, you can carry out for the other

items to avoid loss of orders

Hi Anirban,

The PPDS with SAP R3/ functionlity allows to use the SAP R/3 for master data maintenance, for the manufacturing execution functions (for example, confirmations, goods receipts postings or purchasing).

One of the Main Execution Functions in SAP R/3 will be

Scheduling to determine costs (Controlling)

Reaction in SAP R/3

Scheduling is performed to determine costs. This information is only required by Controlling. The data determined here is not used for production planning.

Reaction in SAP APO

The data determined during detailed scheduling in SAP APO is not changed.

I advise to check URL- SAP Help for detailed information.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/en/c1/147a375f0dbc7fe10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm

If other than the above , MRP itself is planning then, you may adjust MRP controller to include only products which you want to plan.

Paul,

X0 means MRP will not run in R/3 against these parts. It has nothing to do with confirmation of orders. Confirmations can and do take place in R/3, by design.

To demonstrate, try to run MRP manually in R/3 , against a single one of the X0 part numbers that has the planned orders of which you speak. If the MM is marked as X0, It won't produce any planned orders.
