JAVA SDT GUI is total blank/ No Options during Upgrade

Former Member

Hi,

During the Upgrade I have started Upgrade Assistant GUI for ABAP. It is working fine showing all options. Where as I have started SDT GUI for JAVA, the GUI is starting but coming total white without any menu or any thing else. What should be the reason? If because of JAVA environment variable ABAP is already displaying well. What more need to be set for this to work/ show options on GUI. Please advice.

Thanks,

Ajay.

Hi Markus,

I am running them parallel. ABAP is already running and is at phase of import SPs. Now I have started SDT JAVA GUI but coming blank. What to do now?

Thanks.

You started it with the same port number as the ABAP UaServer?

No - When I run JPREPARE.BAT its giving message in cmd as

Waiting for SDTServer to connect on hostname SCM51NUN/10.1.35.32 socket 6240 ...

then I opened a browser navigated to home page then clicked on SDT GUI. It is starting SDT GUI but total blank with no menus/ options (total white) except SAP-Software delivery tools on above GUI name and connected in the below status bar.

Thanks,

Ajay.

I have no clue what's going on. If you close and open again, does it happen again?

BTW: as I posted earlier, using a Java system with a non-Unicode frontend is not supported, you should tell that your customer, he's running an unsupported configuration and may run into trouble.

Hi Markus,

That was repeated even I have closed and begin from PREPARE.BAT and open it again. But after completing ABAP PREPARE phase I have rebooted the server. This reboot solved the issue and now I am running JAVA PREPARE.BAT.

I have a question in this What is CD ID AKK Kernel. Even I give Kernel mount point its giving error like

The configured CD ID AKK has not been mounted.

Thanks,

Ajay.

"AKK Kernel" means (in Germany) 'abwärtskompatibler Kernel' - downward compatible kernel.

But its not taking any kernel.

Here which kernel I have to give. SCM 5.0 (NW 04 SR2 Kernel) or SCM 5.1 (NW04 SR3 Kernel)?

Thanks,

Ajay.

Hi Markus,

I have downloaded SCM 5.1 UC Kernel, it has taken that. But I am upgrading Non-Unicode System then why didnt it taken Non-Unicode Kernel?

Thanks,

Ajay.

Because Java is Unicode-only - in a dual stack system the kernel must be Unicode; that's basically what I'm telling you all time...

Did you do a client copy on the 'old' system? It seems to me that an XPRA is trying to do something in a 'client' other than then 000.

No I have not performed any client copy on the Old System.

Thanks,

Ajay.
