gateway conenction timeout

Hi,

i just found out in tx sm59, at Technical settings tab of SAPCPG_DBDEST_XXX,

At CPI-C Timeout window, "Default Gateway Value" was selected.

Is that mean any value i set for parameter gw/cpic_timeout will not take effect?

or should i select "specify Timeout"? then define the value in sec?

Hi,

Before working on solution for gateway timeout.

Need to clear below points.

at Technical settings tab of SAPCPG_DBDEST_XXX,

Generally this RFC come into picture when we have distributed system in our landscape.

i.e CI on 1 serevr and DB on another server.

If yes, you have distributed enviroment, then can you confirm that You have installed Gateway Instance on DB Box/Node.

If no, you have to install this first because untill you don' t have gateway instance running on DB node you cannot provide complete details in RFC technical settings , due this which RFC connection test will be fail.

Pls confirm above, depend upon which we can move foreward.

Thanks

Hi,

The default gateway value set by parameter (gw/cpic_timeout) is considered if the option is set to 'default gateway value'. If you donot want to go with this value for a particular RFC you may set it specifically using 'Specify timeout'

cheers !

Default value for parameter gw/cpic_timeout is 20. You can check the same on your server.

Thanks and Regards,
