Problem in SM21

Dear All,

We have one ECC 6.0 system in our landscape with the below details:

1. Central Instance (Server1)

2. Application Server 1 (Server2)

3. Application Server2 (server2)

We have configured Load Balancing on this server. Therefore, all users are logged on to Application Server1. Below is the problem description:

1. When I execute SM21 and select System Log->Choose->Local System Log, I am able to get the system logs of the logged on

server successfully.

2. When I execute SM21 and select System Log->Choose->Remote System Log and select another instance name, I am able to get

the system logs of that instance successfully.

However, If I execute execute SM21 and select System Log->Choose->All Remote System Logs, I get the below message:

XXXXX no active RFC destination
XXXXX no active RFC destination
XXXXX no active RFC destination

I have checked in the system and above RFCs are available (Internal Connections) and connection test results are positive.

Can any one help me resolving this issue? If you need any more information, please do let me know.

Waiting for your kind responses.

Regards,

Faisal

Check parameters,

rslg/send_daemon/listen_port

rslg/collect_daemon/listen_port

rslg/collect_daemon/talk_port

rslg/send_daemon/talk_port

rslg/collect_daemon/host

They should be set on your DEFAULT.PFL to apply to all instances..

Juan,

Thanks for your reply. I have already gone through it. But I was wondering if I have to maintain these parameters in DEFAULT.PFL profile. Becaause I did not come across with any statement which says that I have to maintain these parameters in DEFAULT.PFL profile for viewing Remote systems' logs in SM21.

Could you help me understand this?

Faisal

Hi,

Yes, you have set those parameters in DEFAULT.PFL.

Also check on your CI system what is a value of parameter rslg/central/file.

Also set the below parameter in default profile rslg/collect_daemon/host, value of thsi profile should be host name of CI system.

Thanks

Anil,

Thanks you very much for your assistance. I have made changes in DEFAULT.PFL profile of CI and START profiles of CI and application server.

I will check this after a system restart and update all of you.

Thanks once again all of you.

Faisal

Could you go through the following ?

-

SAP Note 1454046 - Remote system log is not displayed

SAP Note 1409405 - Display of temporary destinations when system log refreshed

-

Its weird that you are able to view them individually but not all at one go ! Please keep us posted.

cheers !

Hi Pradeep,

Thank you very much for your reply. I believe the below note# is for BASIS release 710. However, we are on BASIS_700. Also, this does not seem to be my case. However, I appreciate you help

May I know any other steps?
