SESSION_MANAGER Tcode - Does it need to be added into Roles?

Dear Experts,

First of all, thanks in advance for your help.

Quick questions:

1. Is it needed to add tcode SESSION_MANAGER into the roles?. I've never added it to any of my roles, but I'm now working at a client that has it in the role containing basic authorizations for all users.

2. In case it's required, does anyone know what is it for?. I know it's the tcode in which the home menu is displayed, but not much apart from that.

Best regards,

CMPT

Hello cmpt,

I think that this client has that t-code only because of historical causes. Nowadays it is not necessary to be able to start that t-code explicitely anymore. In very old releases this was necessary (before 4.0???? can't remember).
