Creation and modification of new routes

Hi,

In our system, we can't create or modify routes directly into production system.

To do so, we must pass through a transport order from DEV system and after to QUALITY system and finaly to PROD system

Why it is not possible directly in Production system like the modification or creation of an article or a customer?

Thanks in advance for your recomandations

hi

1. In our system, we can't create or modify routes directly into production system.

The besic rule is, whenever there is something related to configuration / enhancement / user exit development or any kind of modification to available, one must go by procedure.

Also they might have made this production client as non-modifiable for any configuration changes (BASIS team can help you to know that)

DEV - Quality - Production

2. Why it is not possible directly in Production system like the modification or creation of an article or a customer?

If you are a consultant (not a client representative) then you mingt not be having authorization to do this in production system.

In some cases, generally client give autorization to few people to create master data.

Hi,

In Production, one should have Authorization and as per rule, first you need to modify or create routes in the Development client and should create a Transport request and after that take that request in the Quality for testing. This is a thuimb rule to first create and test your configuration in Dev Client and then test in the Quality and finally after testing take that request in the Production Client. You are not suppose to do configuration directly in the Production. If you directly do configuration in the Prodution then it may also effect the current configuration of Prod.

Cycle for doing the Configuration:-

Dev>Quality>Finally Production
