Hi All,

I am trying to install Oracle 10.2 Software On AIX 5.3 but continuously RUNINSTALLER script is failing and gui is not starting up. The display variable is set properly. Ownership and permissions of the files under filesystem /oracle/stage/102_64 are ora<sid>:dba and 755.

Error -->

Has 'rootpre.sh' been run by root? [y/n] (n)

y

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13

Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

No pre-requisite checks found in oraparam.ini, no system pre-requisite checks will be executed.

When I tried the RUNINSTALLER provided with 980426, got the below error:

Has 'rootpre.sh' been run by root? [y/n] (n)

y

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13

Error in GetCurrentDir(): 13

Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

No pre-requisite checks found in oraparam.ini, no system pre-requisite checks will be executed.

>>> Ignoring required pre-requisite failures. Continuing...

I tried the Workarounds 2 and 3 given in the sapnote 980426 but the gui is not starting up.

Looking forward for your reply.

Soumya

Please paste the output of the following command by logging into the the system as orasid

env

Apart from the above command pls check out /oracle/oraInventory directory for possible errors.

To check if your display has been set up correctly just issue xclock command .

Hi All,

The issue has got solved.

After further investigation I found that the problem is UNIX mounts points. So, I have copied the media on to another mount point and completed the database installation.

Please make sure the parent directories are also owned by ora<SID>:dba such as

/oracle
/oracle/stage

Usually they are not if you use a default installation.
