GRC 5.3 CUP Password Self Service Not functioning

All,

I'm trying to use the PSS function in CUP and every time I put my answer in I get a JAVA error saying "java.lang.NullPointerException";

My configuration settings are as follows:

Authentication Source: Challenge Response

Select Service to Disable Verification: No

Number of Questions End User has to Register: 1

Number of unsuccessful attempts after which User is locked: 3

I've assigned the correct role with the appropriate actions to the user via UME.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kunal,

Can you please provide the system log. It will help to analyze the issue. System log can be taken from.

Configuration-> Monitoring-> System Log.

Thanks for the response.

I'm in the system log, but the event never triggered an instance in the log file.

Here's the error from the main page:

500 Internal Server Error

SAP J2EE Engine/7.00 ;

Application error occurred during request processing.

Details: java.lang.NullPointerException: null

Exception id: [0013210BB2E800530000003500001A7F000488FF7E726C08]

Hi Kunal,

You should be able to find more details from the logs. Change the log level settings to debug via miscellaneous screen and run the same scenario again. It may give you more details in the log.

That makes sense. After reviewing the log there's was nothing that jumped out to me on why the error is occuring. Please see below:

Kunal,

I am surprised that the logs did not capture anything. did you take the logs as soon as you receive the error? Did you also check the time in the logs to make sure you got the logs for the correct time period? Also, is your server clustered then you may not be seeing logs from other nodes?

What SP level are you on? Go to the downloaded installed files folder and find the xml files for CUP. Upload these xml files into CUP via initial data link and most porbably it will resolve the issue.
