Seems my HTTP transport is dead in the water ?

Hi all,

We have the WAS 6.40 sneak preview installation, on a thinkpad, I did install the loopback adapter (1.2.3.4), since I run from airports sometimes.

any try to get to http://localhost:50000 gets me an error

(it dies after a while).

When I used the go.bat (j2ee admin), I can admin any service, but when I hit the 'HTTP services' it dies on me (literally hangs there doing nothing untill I stop the services).

The services are all 'green', I don't know what went wrong, I looked at the 'developer trace' which is not telling me any major errors other than some memory allocation parameter errors.

Any Guidance ? help ?.

My listening ports are listed here

TCP 0.0.0.0:50000 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

TCP 0.0.0.0:50005 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

TCP 0.0.0.0:50008 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

TCP 1.2.3.4:50004 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

UDP 0.0.0.0:65000 :

After looking more at posts here, I realized it was DB/2, I had an instance of 0.0.0.0:5000 running at start time.

When I stopped DB/2 services, everything works like a charm, but this is not really a good solution.

How can I configure the WAS to work with another port ?, I read a post about a 'config tool' but don't know how to launch it ?.

Hi A.K.,

you can change the default HTTP port using the Visual Administrator. This page contains description of how to do it: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/5b/82d3c3ee9691418e6b0281f933a37d/frameset.htm

Best regards,
