We have an existing NW 7.01 portal setup with ESS functions amongst other things. We have happily been using F5's BigIP hardware load-balancer to load-balance accross all our portal app-servers. The BigIP device add's its own cookie that is then used for the session persistence, ensuring the traffic is always routed to the correct app-server for that session.
We now have a new need to support access to the portal via Citrix and have found a problem which appears to arise when there are multiple user sessions from one Citrix server on to the SAP portal. We intermittently get messages in ESS time recording :
The Web Dynpro application PageBuilder has expired
It appears that this is a result of the user traffic being directed to the wrong portal app-server where of course they don't have a session. We are thinking this must be related to the fact that all the user sessions on one Citrix server will appear to be coming from the same source address.
Can anyone share their experience of a similar set-up and how they have configured the session persistence on the F5 BigIP device ?
Thanks.

Hi Andrew
Were you able to resolve this issue? We are facing a similar issue now and any pointers will be very helpful.
Thanks
Manoj
