Hi everyone,

so when I update my GUI installation server with PL 17 it says I have to reboot my server.
Is this absolutely neccessary so the users will get their update notification or gettin' the whole update process to work?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Hi,
You should re-start the system after applying Patch.
This is recommended. But in case of System not restart, you dont get any negative impact.
In a large organization , all the users may / may not restart the system after the patch configure.

Hello,
I suggest to reboot the server, otherwise it will not popup with this warning.
Last time that I remember I did also reboot the server.
Kind regards,
Marcel

Hello,
See the manual located:

Found it.

The document doesn't mention a neccessary reboot after a patch was applied on the installation server.
So I don't understand why PL 17 says after implemention that the server needs to be rebooted.
