Hi,
I have 3 materials 1: is Beam
2: Rack
3:Box
My Question is by seeing the material descrpition i can say this material belongs to beam or rack or box. without seeing the material descrption is there any chance to say which kind of material belongs to. Can any one pls help me.

It is very much possible by keeping your material Number range external as alphanumaric, where you can keep your material number as Bean etc.

you can give the name of the materials as below.
Beam : Use starting letter as a identification and give material name like this : B1,B2,B3 and so on ...
Apply the same method to other materials too ..

Hi there,
1 idea is: When giving the name for a material, include the 1st 2 characters. For eg for box material will be ABCDBO. Here last 2 characters will be BOX. Similarly ABCDBE - BEAM; ABCDRA - RACK.
