Export License Control for STO in GTS

Hi Guru,

We have 2 plants belongs to different company code.

plant A - US plant;

plant B - China Plant;

STO order type is: ZNB

We want to enable the US export licnese control for the STO shipping from Plant A to Plant B. The first step is to transfer the STO from ECC to STO.

Step1: ECC

SAP Global Trade Services - Plug In -> Control Data for transfer to SAP Global Trade Services -> Configure Control Settings for Transfer

Assign the document type ZNB for application level MM0A.

Step 2: GTS

Document type mapping in GTS, we have an existing CUSTOMS document type EXPORD - Customs Document (Export) - Sales Document Level

- Manually assign the document type ZNB to EXPORD

- Manually assign the item category "0" to cusotm order item category EXORD1

Step 3: GTS

Then we can transfer the STO to GTS, but we still need to map the partner function

Step 4: Export License Control for STO?

The question is how we can implement the export licnese control for STO? I found an note 676301 , but I am still confuse the detail steps, is there anyone can give more explnation for it?

Thank you very much,

If you want to implement export control, you need to understand the government regulations from the country where the shipment is originating from. Then you need to set up your legal regulation, country groups, number schemes, and license types to follow those regulations. Plus you need to set up quite a bit of master data once your customizing is complete.

Also, since an STO is technically a PO, standard GTS functionality only runs legal control on the delivery associated with the STO. The STO does not run through legal control. You would either need to customize your system to run an STO through export (there is an OSS Note for this) or have import legal control turned on.
