Web Dispatcher Error

Hi,

I installed a web dispatcher for my ECC system. The following are the parameters that i maintained in the profile file:

1. Accesssability of Message Server

rdisp/mshost = mtw02sdcr02

ms/http_port = 8000

1. SAP Web Dispatcher Ports

#----

---

icm/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=80

icm/server_port_1 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=443

8000 is the http port of the ecc system.

However the web dispatcher is unable to connect to the message server of the ecc system. Some of the errors that i see in the trace file are as below:

i tried to telnet to 8000 of the ecc sytsem and it works fine. Please help.

Hi,

the answers are in SAP Help:

"The SAP Web dispatcheru2019s profile file only needs to know the port on which it should accept HTTP(S) requests (parameter icm/server_port_<xx>), where it can find the SAP message server (parameter rdisp/mshost) and on which port it accepts these HTTP requests (parameter ms/http_port)."

-> ECC Message Server HTTP Port => rdisp/mshost

-> HTTP port of the Web Dispatcher => ms/http_port

ms/http_port doesn't mean: Message Server HTTP port.

Just change this and it should work!

Hi,

The error is resolved by maintaining a host file entry in the web dispatcher host. The ms/http port was 8100.

You need to connect using message server port of the ECC system i.e. 81<xx>.

Hi Sridevi,

The error says HOST_UNKNOWN. Have you put the host file entry in web dispatcher ?

Check if there are multiple profile files in WD and you have changed the port number in the exact profile file. Also check the exact dispatcher port in the profile files of your ECC system.
