Output files from ASCII to UTF-8 format

How can I change XI generated output files from ASCII to UTF-8 format?

The reason is XI processes XML messages in UTF-8 instead of ASCII.

Did you try the character sets in the file adapter configuration ? If not check this-

I put UTF-8 as encoding and the message processes but when I save it, it saves with ASCII characters instead of UTF-8 format. I tried saving with UTF-8 format manually but it does not work with XML.

Yes, it doesnot work with xml.

Have a look into SAP Note - 821267 Question No 16.
