VB11 Material Determination - How to substitute only when ATP fails?

I created a material determination rule with VB11 (A is replaced by B).

However, my intention was to has A replaced by B only when ATP fails in SO....

Now I have A replaced every time....

I tried to create two lines: A=>A, A=>B as alternative, but A is always replaced by A now...

Did I miss anything?

Hi

To achieve your requirement, maintain the data in VB11, and after inserting the data click on Goto--> Alternative Material (F2) and there maintain the material you want to deliver incase the first material is not available and select the MRP check Box.

This is how I did it, but although there is no open order and enough invt right now, the material is still replaced...

Hello

I have a question about sustitution when materail X should be substitute with a material Y , but we have not complete similarity in unit of measure.

X had 10 item in a pack but Y has 12 items in one pack.

when i substitute X with Y and use VA01 with qty order=1 then i see it give a quantity of 0.833 ( 10/12=0.833) but we sell per pack i need to give 1 not 0.833 .

Do you have a good solution to resolve it ?

per the setup, substitute will show up in delivery not in order.

Its possible to do this. Please do as below.

Ex: xyz is the main item and abc is the substitution item which needs to be activated only when xyz qty is less)

1. Under VB11 maintain the following records:

For Reason : Z003 (ATP Check)

Material Entered is XYZ and Substitution Materials are XYZ and ABC.

Basically Material XYZ substitutes XYZ and if the qty is less it substitutes ABC.

2. Substitute Reason Settings are as under (SPRO):

Reasn Z003

Description Availability check

Entry

Warn

AvCh dep. X

Strategy

Outcome B

Category

This will work wonderfully...

go to mat det. change record screen select the detemination material line or double click on it

there u'll find a atp indicator just set it on

I only found a MRP indicator and I have it set.

Nothing changed in the order creation...
