Using SRM to purchase software licenses (Asset management)

SRM Folks,

We're looking at using SRM to procure software license to help with our Asset Management tracking of those licenses. Today we use predominantly puchout catalogs with p-card payments. In addition, for non-catalog we do text shopping carts in SRM for approval then push down to R/3 for receipt & payment. We currently are NOT leveraging MDM for any SRM catalogs.

Questions:

- What have others done for Asset Management of software and how did they leverage SRM?

- Has anyone leveraged MDM to build a 'Software Catalog" with multiple supplers?
