Hi,
My company is going to implement SAP IS-RETAIL, and the concern now is the type of operating system to use, the IT is considering Linux RAW or Linux FS.
Like to check the pros and cons of the 2 different OS and it impact to SAP.
Any comments or links will be helpful.
Thanks.
Hi,
if you mean to say you should put you SAP DB on RAW or FS then my suggestion is RAW (always).
This way database can direct communicate and mange disk space without having OS file system as intermediate layer. it gives fast response to your requests.
FS are easy to manage but i will not compromise performance for ease of administrator.

I think you talk about the filesystem, not the operating system, right?
Check
Note 171356 - SAP software on Linux: Essential information
the last point (14) contains information about that.
