I am implementing SAP SRM MDM Catalog 3.0 on MDM/SRM 7.1.
I wanted to know if we can implement the substitues and compliments for a particular product or catalog item.
Substitue - If Article A can be repalced by Article B. B is substitue for A.
Compliment - If I buy Article A then I have to buy Article B. For Ex. Software is must while buying Hardware. So, B is compliment for A.
Please do provide some information about the same.
Can we achieve the same by Development. I guess MDM supports such feature in the form of Relationships.
Hi Sudha,
SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 supports four types of item relationship.
1) Substitute item (If item X is not available, this item can be purchased as its substitute)
2) Main item (Component Item)
3) Component Item (Main Item)
4) Related item (User can also puchase related item as they are related to each other)
Thanks,
Anshuk Saxena
