Universe Connection - SAP Password Expiry

Hi Gurus,

We are currently creating all universes on top of SAP BEX queries by giving developer user name and password in each of the universes respectively. Recently, All developer passwords had expired and had to reset whole teams passwords, Due to this earlier created connections with old passwords were getting invalid.

We are checking out with below alternate options to deal with password expiry issue.

1. Create a generic BW ID without password expiry and use across all universes, but suspect that this might affect security of data and display all the data to each end user.

2. Use SSO option for connections, but not sure if it works as expected when report is executed SAP EP.

Let me know which of the above is best, if they are appropriate, else please suggest us an approach to deal with BW password expiry issue.

Using the SSO option should be the solution.

Using SSO will definetly solve your issue, doesnt matter even if you refersh from EP as long as SSO is enabled.

But make sure, please dont import more number of BW roles. when we import more BW roles, " enable force user creation" option will not work as expected. So when ever user changes the password, BO admin needs to update the roles from CMC.
