delet all sap files and registry contents and reinstall.

this is painstaking but better than formatting.

Search for SAp ,sapdb or maxdb in registry and delete it

George

Search for files in drive .EVen check windows and system32 folder also

Hi,

Did u check all the prerequisites. I think u are installing mini sap 6.2.Did u install the microsoft loopback adapter or ur pc is in network. if u are installing in standalone then u have to install the microsoft loopback adapter, and one more thing does ur user id have administrator privilege.

Regards

I'm also SAP newbie, but let me try to help you.

I had a similar problem with installation, but on

Windows XP home edition... there was a problem with

IP address, and it will stop at 11% installation...

It complained that name resolution for the name of

the computer gives 127.0.0.1 IP address...

I even changed HOSTS file so as to give some specific

IP address to my computer, but to no avail...

I decided then to install Windows Server 2003 R2,

I downloaded it from MS web site, and after installing it

the installation of SAP mini basis from book "ABAP Objects"

went smothly, with no problems whatsoever.

But now, there are other problems, as you can see

from my other post on this forum.

Well, this was on Windos XP, but it didn't work,

on Windows 2003 I also updated HOSTS file,

located in directory:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

(open the file with Notepad)

and at the bottom you will see entry:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Now, you can delete it, but you can also leave it there,

and add new line, but above that line, like this:

192.168.0.1 COMPNAME

IP address above is just for example, and COMPNAME

is the name of your computer.

There is a FAQ_E document on the Kernel disc have you read that?

MiniSAP 4.6D installs a copy of MS SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE) as the first thing it does. If you are installing this without using the SetUp.BAT files supplied then you will have problems.

No,i am sure i am installing miniSAP 4.6D

and i also intalled it with SETUP.BAT

And i have installed the Microsoft Loopback adapter with this guide:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839013

I also wonder what all the prerequisites of installing miniSAP 4.6D is................

i have no idea about it...
