CE7.2 server not starting - Windows XP (SP2)

Hi, I have installed the CE7.2 server trial version on a 32 bit system (windows XP Professional SP2). I think as per the server requirement, it is matching the requirement. Also installation was sucessful and there was no error. But when i am starting the server, it is not starting up (Status - yellow - some processes are running).

When I check the trace file(dev_server0), there is error related to 'Java VM shared library issues'

Please let me know, if anybody has any idea about solving this issue.

Total physical memory - 4 GB

Hi,

Please follow below steps.

: Go to my computer-->right click >properties>advanced tab>environmental variables>in system variables below>click newatab>here u have to give varaible name> java_home-> variable value is>whatever u installed in javafile> please take that path > paste there.e:g: (c:j2sdk1.4.2-64)> after that u can restart the server.

1. Take a backup of the instance profile and add

jstartup/vm/home = C:\j2sdk1.4.2_17

2. SET JAVA_HOME to C:\j2sdk1.4.2_17

3. Remove

/usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties.vmprop

/usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE>/SDM/program/config/sdm_jstartup.properties.vmprop

4. Start SAP

STEP:2

Please check if you have set enough Virtual Memory.

For every SAP System to run properly, it needs 20 GB of virtual memory.

Right Click on Mycomputer->Properties->Advanced Tab-> Setting of Virtual Memory-> Advanced Tab-> Click on Change Virtual Memory-> Select the Drive you have installed SAP-> Select Custom Size and enter Intial and Max Size as 20480.

This will be the value if you have installed only one SAP System on this machine on this drive

Hye to All,

We have also downloaded CE 7.2 90 days trial Version. I tried different SAP notes provided at SERVICE MARKET PLACE, but still facing the same problem.

1) I made changes to heap size as per specification given here......

2) I Made changes in BOOT.ini as well.

SYStem specifications are

RAM of my system is 2 GB.

I also tried witth 3 GB RAM but same problem.

I am having this problem also. I have tried installing CE7,1 and CE7.2 on XP and Windoows 2003 and always the problem is the same. The instance is yellow and says it is started but the instance stays yellow

You need follow this as you are in Windows XP 32 Bit.

The defined heap is too big; there is not enough contiguous virtual address space to allocate the heap. For Windows systems, Note 835704 provides additional information. You can use the address space viewer (Note 736462 or Note 129813) and preload DLL (Note 853696) to resolve this issue.
