Material Determination

Dear Gurus,

In material determination, there is no need to create Material master record for substitution material. Then , how system determines substitution?

Here is a scenario.The ordered material is A. the material to be substituted is B.When we create a sales order, material A should come till the available stock.After that material B should come.How can we configure to achieve this?Pl reply.

Hi

you can control the display of A and B material qty and pop up while creation of sales order.

This is possible throught the configuration of Sales & distribution - Basic function - Material substituation - and define the material substituation reason - select the startegy type B - Substitue products are displayed for selection with qty.

And also sivanand has given the required inforamtion also for you reg the material creation.

Hi there,

It is definitely necessary to maintain the material master of the substitute material also. ORelse the system will give you an error that master record doesnot exist for the sales org / plant combination.

Define a reason for substitution No availability in SPRO --> SD --> basic functions --> material determination --> define substitution reason.

When maintaining the condition records for material determination, system will ask for a substitution reason. Then select the option which you defined.
