PI 7.1 RAM requirements

Hi,

We have recently installed PI 7.1 EHP1 and with 7GB RAM for 5 concurrent users, the system seems to be paging a lot. The JAVA engine seems to be really slow. Can anyone share their RAM configuration for non-production PI 7.1 systems?

Hello.

For PI 7.1, it's suggested process should be Core2Duo, RAM > 2GB, JRE > 1.5.

Since you have 7gb, I don't believe the memory RAM is your problem.

You could check the Tuning Guide to search for a solution that decreases

the comsuption of memory for your scenario.

Thanks. We have reviewed installation guides and Quick Sizer results. I believe 7 GB is more than enough for a development environment. However, I was wondering if there are any specific issues with the latest version of SAP JVM which demand additional memory.

i checked my server here... we have given 10GB and we never faced any issues.

but i still believe that 7GB shouldnt be a problem
