Equipment validity period in IH08

Hi Experts,

When i am executing the IH08 report with previous period dates(normally it will give by default todays date) some of the equiments are showing more than one time with different "valid from" and "valid to" dates.Any body can expalin why it is showing like this?

Dear friend,

if you are having "E" equipment in "F" functional location from date "d1" to date "d2" , after that you removed that equipment form "F" functional ocation and kept in "F2" functional location from "D2" to till date...

now if you see IH08 report system will show same equipment twice but your functionallocation, from date and to date will be different.

hope you got clear cut idea about this.

Hi,

Whenever certain fields on equipment (Controlled through Config: History Dependent fields) are changed, a new time slice is created, for the same equipment in background, from the current date with end date at 12/31/9999, and the old record is provided with a end date. That's the reason why you may see the equipment record displayed more than once for a date range.

You should be able to view all the usage history of the equipment by choosing Extras > Usage list from within the equipment transaction.

Hi,

Since when you are executing the transaction for earlier date the same equipment exists twice as you might have created the equipment twice for different validity dates.So when you are executing the transaction IH08(equipment structure) it is showing both the earlier equipment created as well as the one existing as of date.

Try executing the transaction on the date on which the date of the 1st created equipment ends and it will show you only the latest existing equipment.
