CCMS MOnitoring for SAP 3.1i

Hi Gurus,

I found that RZ20 is not avialble in 3.1i systems .

So how to implement CCMS monitoring for these systems.

What we can use to implement this CCMS monitoring in these systems .

Please suggest if anyone has any experiance in this.

Dear Dev S,

In particulars to a 3.1I system, Systems with release 3.X don't have CCMS infrastructure and therefore you have to install special CCMS agent on these systems to monitor them The procedure how to install such agents is described in SAP Note 308061.

Note 455356 details the Requirements for System Monitoring in Solution Manager.

Thanks for your answer.

I tried installing the agent but the problem is that its installed at OS level but not showing up in CEN.

From the log i am getting following error :

Wed Jun 2 15:34:28 2010

ERROR: OS monitoring: Error-254 Can not create MTE: no more space: no more slots available

ERROR: OS monitoring: Error-102 TID [<PERF>:SMV :MoniInfra_sun109_local:5:12849:0:0] not found in monitoring segment.

Any suggestions for this error ?

Dear Dev,

The lack of monitoring segment space error message is related to the monitor segment of the instance itself ( CEN in your case )

you can check this in the transaction RZ20 on the CEN system:

RZ20 > SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors

CCMS Selfmonitoring (old version)

MoniInfra<instance name>

Space

The number of slots can be tailored by increasing the profile parameter :

alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE

- Size of the shared memory area in the CCMS monitoring architecture i

- Default value: 10000000

Even after setting the parameter if you get any errors possibly a restart should work the trick.

Hi Amit ,

It looks like the problem is somewhere else.

I have increased the parameter alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE in my CEN but still getting the same error.

I also tried putting this parameter in my satellite system whihc is 3.1i system and then reinstalled the agent but still same error.

so finally restarted the systems both CEN and satellite....but agian same result.

can you suggest anythng with this ? I really need to resolve this soon.

For Solution Manager 7.0

Navigate to http://help.sap.com -> Solution Manager 7.0 and review the documents. Specifically 'Set-Up System Monitoring'
