Can we not upgrade NW7.0 to Ehp1 without kernel upgrade?

Hi All

I am an abap developer. Recently we wanted to use the latest ehp1 release of NW7.0.

Our basis people told us that it's a big effort and they have to upgrade the kernel. It's not like just installing the Ehp1.

Can you please tell us of the effort involved therein? Is it really that big an effort?

No much more to say...

After EHP's you need to do a full funtional testing... same as after upgrading the system stack.

Hi,

Yes, your basis guy is right. This activity will take time. This is not just the kernel upgrade, you have to do SPAU and SPDD. Also you need to do functional testing as well.

Whole process will take time and it is not just the basis work. Other teams will also be involved in testing, performing SPDD and SPAU etc.

Also, to upgrade to EHP1, kernel upgrade is mandatory and it will be performed by upgrade tool only during upgrade. I would suggest to read upgrade guide.
