Hi

The subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\silsvc' does not exist on the 'localhost' host.).

This is definately a VIRUS problem.

You can resolve this issue by manually deleting the above registry key...

1. Open REGEDIT

2. Navigate to "'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\"

3. "Take Ownership" of "silsvc" subkey. (Right click on "silsvc" => Properties => Secutiry => Advanced)

4. Then delete subkey "silsvc".

Please note, you need to take ownership of the "silsvc" subkey as next level of reg keys will not be accessible. Probably you will get "Access Denied" message if you try to delete the key with taking ownership.

Once the key is deleted, retry SAP installation. It will proceed further...

Hi,

You must be Administrator to take ownership...

Assign "Administrator" "Full Control" permission on MAIN window for subkey "silsvc"

Also select below options in Advanced properties.

1. Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here.

2. Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects.

Then try to delete the subkey "silsvc".

Hi,

It should work...

Unfortunately, if it is not working in your case, you can try installing good antivirus software and scan the whole system to clean infection.

Or even, you may think of reinstalling the Windows and take care it will not infect again...

I have the same problem on a newly installed SBS. So there should not be any virus unless MS delivers with the install :-).

No permit to change anything in the registry.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot!

You have a virus scanner running on your system? If yes, stop it and try again.
