Application Log Monitor not working as expected.

Hi all,

Apart from the standard Business Process Monitoring setup guide, are there any other documents or OSS notes which would give greater detail on how the BPM application log monitor key figure should work?

In our case, it does not appear to be working as expected. It does not report all matching application log failures and the notification emails content is inconsistent in the information included - aggregation is set to "per log" so we would only expect alerts to be raised when it finds application log errors - yet it often raises red alerts with the message "In application log 0 no messages with search pattern E* " Other times, we can see through manual monitoring that there are application log errors in the monitored system, yet these are not picked up by the monitor in Solution Manager.

Any help or guidance appreciated.

Hi JD,

Application monitoring is wise option. Please check whether the Parameter definition is proper in existing configuration. Please try to avoid Wild Character search and make/provide distinct parameters for each monitoring object definition.

Am not sure of your specific requirement for Application logs. If possible try to use the suitable Application Monitors for your requirement.

After application of latest ST-PI patch, monitor runs as expected. Thanks for your reply.
