problem of setup monitoring of NW Java in workcenter

Former Member

Dear friends

When I tried to add MTE into monitoring setup of a NW Java system, I encountered problems.

I installed sapccmsr agent for several java instances via VA as well as manually registered onto CEN. I can see alert MTE in RZ20 of CEN (I created new virtual Node and can see my NW Java system, but in standard MTE SAP Expert Monitoring Template I can't find this NW Java system).

I started to configure monitoring system via workcenter->system monitoring->setup->configure system monitoring (the same as in DSWP->system monitoring setup), under this Java system, when I want to choose ccms context, I can't find this NW Java system. I think the content in ccms context is only derived from standard MTE SAP Expert Monitoring Template but can't see somewhere else. So I'm not able configure the alert or monitoring for this NW Java system thus can't see alert in Workcenter.

Does any friends have idea on why and how to solve this?

BR

Pete

Hi ,

Have you added this Java system in your Logical Component and have you put this system in Solution ?

Please check it and refer the below links :

Hi Antony

Thanks for your quick reply.

For solution and logical component, yes, this portal system is contained in a solution. The logical component is also under SAP NW->enterprise portal.

Please advise further if you have any idea.

Thanks.

Dear Pete,

In the setup of system Monitoring screen. for the Java system, The system will ask for the central monitoring system <CEN>. Did you choose your solution manager or CEN system here?. then you must be able to see the all monitoring segments here .(SAVE the entry from try. It has worked for me once)

Also, please check whether you are able to see the Monitoring segments on RZ20->CCMS Expert Monitoring tempaltes->Your <SID>_XXXX.?.

revert for any issues.

Thanks,

Dear Jagan

Under RZ20->CCMS Expert Monitoring tempaltes I can find my java system but what puzzles me is that only some OS level info but no java related KPIs.

For monitoring setup screen I'm not sure if you are talking about screen from tcode: solman_setup.

For solman_setup this is ok for my java system but in CCMS I can't find java related MTE thus I can't add these MTE into monitoring setup. So in workcenter no alert about java is shown up.

As far as I know after install sapccmsr agent, all related info should be pushed to CEN but here only OS level info is there, no Java related...

Looking forward to your ideas.

Hope you have registered the sapccmr agent with -j2ee option. Please confirm.

No, the transaction is not solman_setup, its solution_manager -> shoose your solution->solution monitoring->operation setup->setup system monitoring->your java system->choose your central system here.

As far as I know after install sapccmsr agent, all related info should be pushed to CEN but here only OS level info is there, no Java related...

Thats right, samccmsr -R pf=<profilepath> -j2ee should do the trick.

Please try it and revert for any issues.

Thanks,

Jagan

Dear Jagan

Yes I'm using sapccmsr -R -J2ee pf=<> to register the agent. On os level I can see this process running under root privilege(not sure should be under <sid>adm).

Besides, under solution_manager -> shoose your solution->solution monitoring->operation setup->setup system monitoring->your java system->

I can see my system there and also choose solman as CEN. But under next tab (ccms context), I can only choose server related MTE to my java system.

Looking forward to your ideas

Hi Pete,

Once you install the sapccmsr agent with -j2ee option, There should be three sets of MTEs for an Java system(1 server). But seems thats not so in your case. Please reinstall the sapccmsr agent with a new version and with SIDADM. solution manager SID should be your CEN, If its on a dual stack, please give your ABAP id first during the registeration Process.

So it will be java-> ABAP ccms -> Solman.

Hope you got this . revert for any issues
