VBDATA on HA System

Hi

We use MIMIX to mirror to our HA system - this currently has a very large backlog of applies on the target for file VBDATA.

My question is whether in a planned or unplanned switch the 'transient' data in file VBDATA is required and if not can I just remove this from the file data group to stop mirroring the data ?

Thanks

David

Hello David,

ops !

As VBDATA processes ALL your vouchers and is in casse of a system switch "pretty inconsistent", it would be very dangerous, to get rid of this one. VBHDR, VBDATA & VBERROR are belonging togehter and should be at least in sync.

If you remove these from Sync, your start of the mirror will miss the last transactions, that were not fully processed - to me that sounds not useful at all.

Even when this is a table with a BLOB and they are pretty slow in sync, you need to sync it "somehow" - even when you would do it with a "full-sync" by savobj / rstobj in a nearly quite time ...

(If it is large, you should find a time of a fwe minutes, where you can disable the users and then use RGZPFM on this and SM14 to reorganize the open requests - then it should be very small again and no problem to "full-sync" ...

I think, we should talk on this topic a bit more in detail ...
