Hello again,

according to

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/821640b7b6dd5fe10000000a155106/content.htm

I need to log in to the portal.

But when I enter the adress: http://systemID.domain:port/irj/portal/ i getr the following error:

" 404 NOT Found

The requested resource does not exist.

Details: Go to main page of thei application!"

And the main page link gets me to "http://systemID.domain:port/index.html" wich is "SAP Web Application Server" with the following components: SAP Library, System Information, User Management, SAP NetWeaver Administrator, Web Services Navigator, UDDI Client, Web Dynpro, J2EE Engine Examples.

But where can I log into the portal?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

the portal URL is: http://server:port/irj

When you get an 404 -> not found for this URL, maybe the portal isn't installed on your server?

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

if I try to access http://server:port/irj, I get the same error as described above. It is not a standard Internet Explorer error, it has some blue margins, so it is generated by SAP software(SAP J2EE Engine/7.00 ).

How can I check if the portal is installed or not?

Andrei.

Hi

Did you check whether the host file is added in your desktop for the same .

Try to access the portal with IP , like http://<IP>:port/irj

Hi Antony,

yes, the file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\hosts has the entry <IP Address> Hostname

It is the same error, wether I type http://<IP>:PORT/irj or http://hostname:port/irj.

So it's not the host file.

Does this mean that I have no portal installed?

I'm running a test version from Novell (SLES - SuSe Linux Enterprise Server) with a trial version of Netweaver preconfigured in a virtual machine.

Thanks,

Andrei.

Hi,

As per your installation done i dont think you had installed the portal component while installation.

as you can open the page http://hostname.domain:port/nwa.

Please check the screen shot of the installtion of the logs for the installation.

Thanks

Hi,

the link http://hostname.domain:port/nwa gets me to the SAP netWeaver Administrator page where I can log in.

I don't think I have an installation log, since the whole thing came preconfigured as a virtual machin image with everything already installed on it. What I had to do was simply start the SAP Server and create the users.

So, any sugestions where I can look to see if the portal is installed?

I installed everything using this tutorial:

Hi ,

Check in system information.

run the url:http://hostname.domain:port/index.html -> System Information ->Software Components -> click on all components

Check which all EP_XXXXXX components are installed.

Hi,

So this means that wen you installed the system you dint select the EP component and so you are not getting the page iirj/portal.

Thanks

So I don't have the portal installed, I was afraid of that.

Thanks all for your effort.

Is there any chance to get it installed on this trial version on linux?

Means you have the JAVA stack in your system. It doesnot mean that you have installed portal. From the installation link you provieded, it seems, you have installed ABAP+ JAVA trial versions, not any portal kind of stuffs.

Hi,

it helps a lot if you would provide all the necessary information on your problem before at your initial post. That you are using a TRIAL version would have clearified almost all of your questions.

Download a trial version from SDN that includes the portal:

Thanks for the tip.

But these are all windows versions. any idea where I can get a linux version (trial of corse) with portal? For example a VMware image like the one provided in my tutorial above? I don't have Windows license and don't want to use cracked/illegal license.

Hi

Check the Table : RSPOR_T_PORTAL whether the URL is correct , if not correct it and try again .

Refer http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/821640b7b6dd5fe10000000a155106/content.htm

Hello,

I would start checking the URL setting according to the note 805344...

Hope it helps to you.

Good luck,
