Update Introscope Agent to 8.2.0.0 not possible

Hello!

I try to update the Introscope Agent in my SAP Solution Manager from version 8.1.0.0 to version 8.2.0. JSPM detects the new SCA file but gives the following warning:

[Warning]: Delivery unit with version 8.2.0 located in /usr/sap/trans/JSPM/TSG/ISAGENT02_0-10007435.SCA is not a valid update for component sap.com/ISAGENT with version 8.1.0.0.

Are there any suggestions on how I can update the ISAGENT?

The version of Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager is 8.2.2.0

Did you find the solution to this problem? I am facing the same issue..

I am thinking in un deploying ISAGENT to install the new version...

Hi There

The deployment of your IS Agent is not supported using JSPM.

In order to deploy the deploy the agent to the Java Stack you need

use the SDM.

You can check the introscope specific note 797147 and also note

1274281 which states to use the SDM and not JSPM.

You will need to force the SDM to install the later version of the IS

Agent as follow:

go to > "Settings for Updating SCAs/SDAs" and

select "Update deployed SDAs/SCAs that have any version".

Hello Paul,

the JSPM works with the SCA-File. You do not have to uncompress it.

JSPM detects the file and reads the version information, but then gives the warning mentioned above. That's seems to be the reason why JSPM does not offer me the newer version of the ISAGENT as an update for the installed ISAGENT.

But I do not understand why ISAGENT 8.2 is not a valid update for ISAGENT 8.1

I tried ISAGENT 8.2 with another Solution Manage Installation - without an ISAGENT installed - and JSPM gives me the choice to implement it.

Hello Frank,

You make reference to file usr/sap/trans/JSPM/TSG/ISAGENT02_0-10007435.SCA

This is a compressed file, like a ZIP file, and typically it needs to be uncompressed with SAPCAR.exe to be usuable.

Could this be why you are getting the error " usr/sap/trans/JSPM/TSG/ISAGENT02_0-10007435.SCA is not a valid update for component sap.com/ISAGENT with version 8.1.0.0." ???

You might want to SAPCAR the file so its usuable.

Hello!

I read the notes and documentation but did not find any hint for this problem.

Everything works fine, except the update of the Introscope Agent to 8.2 on the Solution Manager:

Solution Manager 7.0 EhP1 SPS 21

Introscope 8 SP2

Introscope Agent 8

Please read the SAP Note 1273028 : Introscope 8 Release Notes care fully and make sure all the prerequisit is been

meet.

Also for futher FAQ please refer to the Sap Note 797147 : Wily Introscope Installation for SAP Customers

and the attched file with it.
