Hello,
i saw in APO the possibility to use the "Product and Location Interchangeability".
I check the SAP Help and do some setup for this and now i works more or less in APO.
So i the system create a PurReq and take the old material into account.
But now my question is what are the next steps. I can't see this chain in R/3.
Can anybodey provide my with a linke which explain the concept of this function in APO or does anybody use this and
can tell me how they use it.
kind regards,
Bernhard
Hi Bernard,
SNP generates SNP product substitution orders to pass the demand to
the successor product.
This demand is then treated as any other demand in SNP. During the next
planning step the system checks whether sufficient stock exists and if necessary
creates receipt elements to cover the deficit.
These receipt elements (planned orders and stock transfers) can be transferred
to SAP R/3. However the product substitution orders are not visible in SAP R/3.

Hi Bernhard,
The below link contains the product interchangeability
information from PPDS and the flow to R/3

I hope this will resolve your issue.

Hi Bernhard,
Are you using PPDS in your scenario? If you
want to transfer substitution orders to ERP, you have
to use PP/DS functionality.

HI Bernhard
Unfortunately substituion orders (demand and receipts) are not CIFfed back to R/3. Simialry the substituion relationship isnt visible in R/3. So during the planning stage, there exists some difference in Md04 and product view in terms of demand and receipts.
however interchangeability supports PPDS and execution.
R/3 however has a similar functionality under product discontinuation. SAP suggests only to use either of the functionalities at a given time.
for our customer, we use it for managing products being phased out. even during production, the stock of the product being substitued is consumed first (before planning of the new product) redcuing write offs in our supply chain.
Please let me know what is the scenario that you are trying to map or specifically what problem are you facing.

Hello Sandeep,
thanks for the information.
If i use the function in R/3 or APO is equal, but over MRP runs are in APO so thats why if we go for the R/3 soloution this should work with APO.
My scenario:
We have materials which are replaced by a new one. So we will start to sell the new one but the system should first take
everything from the old one.
And this should be visible in R/3. But the Planned orders or PurReq are created via APO.
So if you can provide me with a link about the R/3 flow would be greate.
kind regards,
Bernhard
